AMMONIA RECOVERY PLANT

The ammonia recovery system is aimed at companies that deal with the disposal of WEEE waste and in particular refrigeration systems, but it is also applicable in environments where ammonia gaseous effluents are emitted into the atmosphere, such as in landfills or flexography industries.

The ammonia extraction and recovery process is very similar to that used by Ulix Innovation to recover freon and R000. Using a hydraulic gun of our creation, the operator pierces the chiller circuit. When all consents are respected, the valve opens and the solution of water and ammonia is sucked by the vacuum pump. At this point, the solution of water and ammonia enters the stripping tower, where the ammonia is separated from the water, which remains at the bottom of the column. The ammonia continues its journey and after being subsequently cooled and de-oiled, it is compressed until it liquefies and stored in a special cylinder.

The water at the bottom of the column, containing traces of ammonia, will subsequently be neutralized with sulfuric acid in the stripping tower, before being discharged into the sewer.

This system is considerably more convenient than scrubbers with sulfuric acid, as it allows you to recover ammonia and eliminate the costs of disposing of ammonium sulphate.

The system is completely automatic and managed by PLC. It is monitored remotely and can be interconnected with the factory management system in accordance with the “Industry 4.0” plan with which it is possible to receive hyper-depreciation of 20% in the first year.
